Social Networking with Flickr

Coming in late to this session; started learning about a Rails-based CMS called Radiant, but it was a little too high level. If you want to learn more about that, go to ChicagoRuby.org and see the presentation.

People are sharing stories about meeting people by sharing photos at Flickr. It seems that BarCamp would not have happened without Flickr. And I don’t even take pictures!

John December notes that when you see someone’s photos, you really get a sense of that person’s worldview and personality. This makes it easier to be “social” than MySpace and other social networks.

Gabe says F-Spot for Linux has great Flickr integration.

Easy way to generate traffic? Tag something–anything–“topless.”
