As expected, much MUCH more commentary and details on the Microsoft-Novell deal today. I really haven’t been able to wade through it all, but I will say that the discussion at GrokLaw is fascinating reading. PJ thinks it’s a disaster, and cites some of the same writers I regularly read to understand all the business machinations (especially Steven Vaughn-Nichols). Interestingly enough, her rant has nothing to say about SCO.
Besides Groklaw, you can follow things at Google News and Techmeme. If you want to share your thoughts on this, feel free to leave a comment. As you can tell, I’m still thinking. I much prefer thinking about applications that help get work done than business strategies and/or licensing. But that’s just me.
